The university may change a Courses offered in any semester. Students must take all courses offered in any given semester. University may change or drop course(s) when class strength is too low or the subject is not offered for classroom teaching
Incomplete Courses
When a course is not completed by the end of the semester because of circumstances beyond the students control, an I to indicate Incomplete may be assigned by the instructor. The course must be completed within the next semester unless there is significant and compelling reason to warrant an extension of time. It is recommended that the student obtain from the instructor, in writing, the necessary requirements for course completion. If given grade I is not removed within one year, the grade will convert to a grade assigned by the instructor or administration.
Inter-disciplinary Degree Program
Interdisciplinary/cross-curricular teaching involves a conscious effort to apply knowledge, principles, and or values to more than one academic discipline simultaneously. The disciplines may be related through a central theme, issue, problem, process, topic, or experience. The organizational structure of interdisciplinary/cross-curricular teaching is called a theme, thematic unit, or unit, which is a framework with goals/outcomes that specify what students are ex-pected to learn as a result of the experiences and lessons that are a part of the unit.
The purpose of interdisciplinary degree program is to develop students in-breadth (compare to in-depth) perception by integrating diverse academic disciplines, thought, knowledge, and experience. The objective of such degree program is to put out competent graduates who will assume the leadership positions to supervise/initiate broad perspective planning and development programs for socio-economic progress. A university is supposed to be home (universe) of everyone (with diverse interests and potentials) for dwelling and growing academically. This program should help fulfill the intellectual actualization need of the all-rounder who is interested to play crucial roles (for socio-economic progress) with wisdom and responsiveness. Such positions are involved in making effective decisions for efficient usage of resources by minimizing wastes due to unnecessary overlapping and redundancies. The graduates of these programs will be the experts to harness the human resources from different backgrounds for exerting their productive efforts in harmony and mutual reinforcement For such programs, courses which are too redundant, or overlapping, or are not effective enough (per academic advisor) may not be counted toward the fulfillment of required credit hours.
Maximum Degree Program Duration
The maximum time to complete any degree program is 1.5 times the normal length of the program unless mitigating circumstances such as illness exist. The expected length of each program is established during the first two semesters based upon the average number of courses completed during that time.
Monitoring System
All degree programs at Baccalaureates, Masters, or Doctoral level will be reviewed to determine whether they should be considered in the eligibility for Global Standard Education (GSE) process or not.
Official Notices
Student should watch the bulletin boards outside the classroom and or institutes office within the campus for notices. An official notice is properly posted for forty-eight hours.
Repeated Courses
A grade of D or F may be replaced with a non-evaluative grade of R only once if a student so requests. To repeat a course, it must be the same as the original course (at the discretion of the faculty). The first attempt will be recorded on the transcript as R repeat. The second time the course is taken its grade will be posted in the semester earned. In the Explanation of Grades section of the transcript, it will be noted that only the second grade is used in the calculation of the GPA for retention and graduation purposes. An undergraduate student is permitted to repeat up to a maximum of eighteen (18) semester hours (or six different courses) in which the original grade was a D or F. Repetition of a course is not complete until validated by the accounts office. A student is permitted to repeat up to a maximum of nine (9) semester hours (or three different courses) graduate level courses in which the original grade was a D or F. Repetition of a course is not complete until validated by the accounts office.
Student Classifications
