Bachelor Of Laws (LL.B 2 years)
   Core & Elective courses: 60 semester credit hours

  For LL.B (2 Years) Program
      Ø      Minimum Bachelor Degree (B.A, B.Com, B.Sc) or a four (4) years Honours Degree.

Ø      Relative 2-5 years working experience is to be considered as an added advantage to enroll into LL.B.

Ø      Acceptable scores in Southern Admission Test (SAT)

  Entrance Examinations

Ø     All incoming freshmen are required to take evaluation test. The results are helpful in counseling and  

       placement.

  Academic Load

Ø      All students are permitted to carry 12 semester hours. Outstanding academic result may be considered 

        for additional courses with the permission of course instructor and the Head of the Department.

 Semester Credit Hour System

Ø   The academic program of this university operates on semester system (fifteen weeks per academic   semester including exam). Course credit is assigned according to the number of in-class contact hours associated with the course. Each semester has 45 hours of lectures.

  Evaluation

Ø    There will be one mid-term examination worth 25% and final examination worth 50%. Class attendance, class test and homework worth 25%, any missed exam/test will earn zero (0). Academic dishonesty, such as, misbehavior in class, copying in exam/test or supplying copy to another student may result “F” grade or expulsion from the course.

  Examination Policy

Ø    Each course shall consist of not less than 100 marks or points. There are no foxed criteria in terms of test scores. The allocation of 100% marks/ points will be taken as 5% for attendance, 20% for class performance/ assignments, 25% for Mid-term. The rest 50% of the total marks will be kept for semester final examination.

Ø   The nature of question should be of various nature such as MCQ, short type, broad type, case study, specific problems etc. or in any other form as the tutors deem it necessary to judge the comprehensive study as well as the merit of the students.

Ø    Duration of the Mid-Term Examination is from 1 to 1½ hour and Final Examinations may be from 2 to 3 hours respectively depending on the nature of questions.

Ø    According to the schedule of examinations final examinations are held in all courses upon the completion of each semester. No one is excused from the above-mentioned examinations.

 Grading System

        All course works are graded according to a uniform grading system decided by the University Grants         

        Commission of Bangladesh (UGC), the highest controlling authority of the Universities in Bangladesh for all 

        Universities (Public, Private). The following identical grading system is effective from the session 2006-207:

                                          Uniform Grading System

  Grade Points

A student’s semester grade point average is determined by dividing the total number of grade points by the total number of hours attempted. Grade point totals are calculated by multiplying the number of credit hours of a course by the number of points for the corresponding grade received. A student’s grade point average will be determined by dividing the total number of grade points by the total number of hours attempted with the exception of courses in which marks of “CR”, “W, “WA”, “R”, “AU”, “S”, “U”, “I” are received.

Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) is a two years degree providing quality legal education at the postgraduate level. Course work features and practices enable students to work effectively in legal field. This program requires 60 semester credit hours (20 courses) of study for providing quality law education at professional level.
